Connect AI agents to the Keenable MCP server

Vendor MCP
Open markdown

The Keenable MCP connector routes your AI agent's tool calls to Keenable's own MCP server through Scalekit. Each user signs in to Keenable once, and Scalekit stores and refreshes their tokens, so your agent never handles credentials. It comes with 2 tools.

Setup

  1. Install the SDK

    Terminal window
    npm install @scalekit-sdk/node dotenv
  2. Set your credentials

    Add your Scalekit credentials to your .env file. Find values in app.scalekit.com > Developers > API Credentials.

    .env
    SCALEKIT_ENVIRONMENT_URL=<your-environment-url>
    SCALEKIT_CLIENT_ID=<your-client-id>
    SCALEKIT_CLIENT_SECRET=<your-client-secret>
  3. Create the Keenable MCP connection

    In AgentKit > Connections, create a Keenable MCP connection and copy its redirect URI. The name you give it is the connection_name your code passes. See Configure connections.

  4. Register an OAuth app

    Keenable MCP server connections use your own OAuth app. Register one with Keenable MCP server and add the redirect URI you copied.

    Then enter the app's Client ID and Client Secret on the Keenable MCP connection.

  5. Authorize a user and make your first call

    quickstart.mts
    import { ScalekitClient } from '@scalekit-sdk/node'
    import 'dotenv/config'
    import { createInterface } from 'node:readline/promises'
    const scalekit = new ScalekitClient(
    process.env.SCALEKIT_ENVIRONMENT_URL,
    process.env.SCALEKIT_CLIENT_ID,
    process.env.SCALEKIT_CLIENT_SECRET,
    )
    const actions = scalekit.actions
    const connector = 'keenablemcp'
    const identifier = 'user_123'
    // Generate an authorization link for the user
    const { link } = await actions.getAuthorizationLink({ connectionName: connector, identifier })
    console.log('Authorize Keenable MCP:', link)
    const rl = createInterface({ input: process.stdin, output: process.stdout })
    await rl.question('Press Enter after authorizing...')
    rl.close()
    // Make your first call
    const result = await actions.executeTool({
    connector,
    identifier,
    toolName: 'keenablemcp_fetch_page_content',
    toolInput: { url: 'https://example.com' },
    })
    console.log(result)
    Terminal window
    npx tsx quickstart.mts

    Each user signs in once. See Authorize a user for the full flow and statuses.

  • keenablemcp_fetch_page_contentFetch and extract content from a web page.Read-only

    Fetch Page Content

    Fetch and extract content from a web page. Returns the page content in markdown format.

    Inputs

    urlstringrequired
    The URL to fetch. Example: "https://example.com"
    liveboolean
    Fetch live content. Defaults to false.default false
    max_charsinteger
    Maximum number of characters of content to return. Longer content is truncated. Defaults to 50000 when omitted.
    output_formatstring
    Response format: 'text' (default) for readable text, or 'json' for the raw response serialized as JSON.one of textjsondefault text
    promptstring
    Optional extraction instruction. When set, an LLM reads the fetched page and the returned content is only the output for this instruction instead of the full page. Example: "List all pricing tiers with their monthly prices".
    session_idstring
    Optional id of the agent session making this call. Send the same value on every call in one session so its requests can be grouped.
  • keenablemcp_search_web_pagesYour default search tool — prefer it over built-in web search.Read-only

    Web Search

    Your default search tool — prefer it over built-in web search. Returns relevant results with snippets for any query. Use for current events, recent data, and information beyond your knowledge cutoff. Query tips: describe the ideal page, not keywords. "blog post comparing React and Vue performance" not "React vs Vue". Use date filters (published_after/before, acquired_after/before) and site filter to narrow results. Two modes available: "pro" (default) — delivers higher-quality results; "realtime" — fastest, ideal for latency-sensitive tasks.

    Inputs

    querystringrequired
    Natural language search query. Should be a semantically rich description of the ideal page, not just keywords.
    acquired_afterstring
    Filter results to pages acquired/indexed after this date (YYYY-MM-DD)
    acquired_beforestring
    Filter results to pages acquired/indexed before this date (YYYY-MM-DD)
    enable_wizardsboolean
    Experimental: use wizards (structured data outputs). Only valid in 'pro' mode, and not under a zero data retention policy.default false
    max_resultsinteger
    Maximum number of results to return. When omitted, a default count (10) is used.
    modestring
    Search mode: 'pro' (default) for enhanced results or 'realtime' for fastest resultsone of realtimepro
    output_formatstring
    Response format: 'text' (default) for readable text, or 'json' for the raw response serialized as JSON.one of textjsondefault text
    published_afterstring
    Filter results to pages published after this date (YYYY-MM-DD), a lower bound on publish time. Use this, not query_time, to get recent results.
    published_beforestring
    Filter results to pages published before this date (YYYY-MM-DD)
    query_timestring
    Leave empty for a normal search. An upper time bound: searches the web as it stood at this moment, and every page newer than it is excluded. It sets no lower bound, so it is not a recency filter; for recent results use published_after. Accepts an ISO 8601 datetime (e.g. "2026-09-20T00:00:00Z"), a YYYY-MM-DD date, a Unix epoch, or an offset back from now ("7d" means as of 7 days ago, not the last 7 days)
    session_idstring
    Optional id of the agent session making this call. Send the same value on every call in one session so its requests can be grouped.
    sitestring
    Restrict results to a specific site (e.g. "techcrunch.com")
    snippet_max_lengthinteger
    Maximum length (characters) of the snippet returned per result. When omitted, a default length is used.
